I graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Secondary Education with the emphasis on Spanish.  I was chosen by the state of Florida to be a representative in an education liaison and, while living with a local family, attended a semester at the University of Costa Rica, where I expanded my certification to K-12.

This is my 26th year teaching.

20 years were teaching high school and community college Spanish to English speakers in Florida.

We moved to the north Alabama area seven years ago. I have been teaching English to Spanish speakers for over 6 1/2 years.  This is my sixth year as the ESL teacher and I just love it!  I am so honored to have been chosen as BSLK's Teacher of the Year this year!

My father was a dentist in the U.S. Navy, so I was fortunate to have traveled in my early childhood.  One of the places we lived was in Panama Canal Zone, where I had my first exposure to the Spanish language.  Later, I studied it in high school and college.  I have been blessed in my life to have been able to travel to many other countries, most of which required me to use and develop my Spanish.  Besides God and family, my other two passions are Spanish language/culture and horses.  I compete regularly in equestrian events with my wonderful horse.
